To the editor:

To say that this year has been challenging for everyone is an understatement. No one has escaped some sort of hardship, whether it be individuals, businesses, or charitable organizations. But as this year comes to an end and there are those of you able to donate to a worthy cause, I ask that you consider giving to His Laboring Few Ministries. This is a church that not only feeds people's souls, but also feeds their bodies EVERY DAY. Operating on a shoestring budget, they have provided thousands of meals each year to our neighbors in Thomasville, High Point, Archdale, and surrounding areas. They also provide and deliver a nourishing meal each Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day to those who call to request one (private homes, hospitals, First Responders, rest homes, etc). A meal is also provided to anyone that goes to their building in Thomasville or to the Southside Mission in High Point to eat. With the difficulties that many are experiencing this year, this ministry expects to serve approximately 10,000 FREE holiday meals (costing the ministry $5.50 per meal).

Some people do not even know that this ministry exists, but it's a lifeline for many every day. I have volunteered with them in the past and have seen firsthand how dedicated the volunteers are (and yes, they could use more volunteers for the holiday meals) and how God has provided. Pastor Steve Erwin has poured himself into this church and ministry and has been such a blessing to so many. So, if you are able to share what God has blessed you with this year, please consider sharing your blessings locally and donate to this very worthy ministry. Tax-deductible donations should be sent to His Laboring Few Ministries at 1220 N. Main St. in High Point, NC 27262. For additional information, please call 336-812-3161.

May you all have a very Blessed holiday season.
