SARASOTA — Nicholas, ‘Nick’ Lawrence DiFoggio, Jr. 75, of Sarasota, FL passed away peacefully on April 20, 2021. He was born in Greensboro, NC on Dec. 5, 1945. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Nick and Seretter Casey DiFoggio of High Point NC.
Nick started off his employment career at an early age by splicing program tapes together in the film room at the ABC affiliate Channel 8 Television station in High Point. After working there for many years and many promotions he retired as Program Manager.
Nick was a member of the High Point Jaycees and was president of the Oak Hollow Drag Boat Racing Association sponsored by the Jaycees. He thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, but most of all he enjoyed watching his Boston Red Sox baseball team.
He moved to Florida for the warm weather and relaxation. He got involved with a wildlife preservation society and volunteered for ‘turtle watch’ around the shores of Sarasota to make sure the endangered turtles were protected and unharmed.
His two siblings, Mike and Donna and Donna’s husband Andy are a very tight foursome. Over the years the four nurtured a very close bond that will never be broken. Donna’s husband Andy was like a brother to Nick. A large piece of their hearts will always be with their brother.
Nick was a man of many friends whom I know will miss his great smile, sense of humor and quick jokes. He was the best!
Nick is survived by his wife Dawn, two children, Nick III, wife Jennifer and his grandchildren Catherine, Caroline Disher, husband Ryan all of Concord, NC. His daughter, Sabrina of Colfax, and two nephews, Anthony of Wallburg and Mario of High Point. His cousin Mitzi Curtis of Greensboro and Ronnie McBryde (deceased) wife, Pam of Newman, GA.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Liana North Sarasota Memory Care facility. Nick was surrounded by Angels in a first class facility.
Condolences and/or memories of Nick can be posted on the Facebook page of Liana-of-Sarasota.
