THOMASVILLE — Melissa Myers Everhart, 46, of Thomasville passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born on August 12, 1974 to Thomas “Tommy” Austin Everhart, Jr. and Priscilla Myers Everhart in Davidson County. Melissa taught school for several years, later working as executive vice president with AON financial group.

She was a faithful member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church in Thomasville, where she served as secretary for some time. Melissa recently completed her masters degree in education with a distinction in school counseling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Thomas Everhart, Sr. and Helen Rudisill Everhart; maternal grandparents, Tommy Myers and Sybil Bryant Myers; her aunt, Barbara Ann Everhart.

Surviving is her loving mother, Priscilla Myers Everhart of Thomasville; her aunts, Vickie Jolly (Jim) of Lexington, Suzanne Rose of Durham; great-aunts, Dot Russell (Lawrence) of Thomasville; Imogene Deal of Denton, Pat Long of Asheboro; three cousins, Jay Jolly (Becki) of Richardson, TX, Ben Jolly (Jodi) of Lexington, David Rose of Durham; many other extended family and friends.

Miss Everhart will lie in state on Sunday, January 10, 2021, from noon to 6 p.m. at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Allan Van Meter and Jane Baity officiating.

Interment will follow at Fair Grove UMC Cemetery in Thomasville. Memorials may be made to Fair Grove Family Resource Center and Fair Grove United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
