GREENSBORO — Lashon Christopher Ramon Ellerbe (affectionately known as Shon) was born July 8, 1990, in High Point, NC, to William Thomas (Tommy) Ellerbe and Angela (Angie) Gaskin. He passed away unexpectedly at Moses Cone Hospital, Nov. 17, 2020. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie Lee Ellerbe and Nettie Mae Owens Ellerbe; and his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Little.
Shon was educated in the High Point City Schools and, although he was only 30 at the time of his death, he affected many people in his lifetime. He was love personified, always opening his heart and doors to family and friends with open arms.
Some of the things Shon liked to do in his leisure time was basketball and one thing people may be surprised to know, was fishing. He was fun and fun loving but the most important character about Shon was that he was proud to be a “Girl Dad”.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his parents; two daughters, Kelani Karmyn and Khiani Chanel Westway-Ellerbe; two sisters, Demetreal Dunlap (Karl Fuller) and Ashley Ellerbe; one brother, Termarious Dunlap; his grandfather, John Gaskin of Tampa, Florida; three uncles, Ron Davis, Overseer Michael (Janice) Ellerbe, LeMarvin Ellerbe; three aunts, Teresa Gaskin, Denise Ellerbe (the late Vincent) Daniel and Michelle Ellerbe (Kenneth) Taylor; four nephews, Kamari Ellerbe, Braggi Christopher Ellerbe, Leatti Ellerbe and Termarious Dunlap II; three nieces, Kionee and Kennadi Fuller, and Tamari Dunlap; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. Mr. Ellerbe may be viewed on Monday, Nov. 23, at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 4 until 7 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
