WINSTON-SALEM — Joe Don Gallimore, 84 passed away Wednesday morning, April 21, 2021 following a brief illness. He was born April 14, 1937 in Thomasville, NC to the late Numa Ray and Blanche Gallimore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bray Gallimore, brother, Richard Gallimore, and sisters Inez Ferrell and Laurestine Stone.

Joe is survived by his son Keith Gallimore (Anna), daughter Angie Laycock (Dave), granddaughters, Kristan Gallimore (David Rimmer), Holly Stanick (Ian), and great grandchildren Grayson and Amelia Stanick, and David Lee Rimmer. He is also survived by his faithful and loving companion, Delores “Dee-Dee” Cecil, sister, Carol Ledwell, and extended family and friends.

Joe was a member of Hasty Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities, including deacon, treasurer, and Buildings and Grounds, chair. After retiring from Hatteras Yacht, he helped his son in residential construction.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Hasty Baptist Church, Thomasville, NC with Rev. Daniel E. Pittman II and Rev. Ronnie Beane officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home. For your protection and others, masks and social distancing are required at the service, and the visitation will be held outside.
