HIGH POINT — A young woman was killed and two other young people were injured in a single-car wreck along an east High Point street late Monday.

A 2008 Hyundai Elantra sedan was found upside down about 11:30 p.m. in the middle of Russell Avenue near the intersection with Hines Street, according to the High Point Police Department.

One of the passengers, a 25-year-old woman from High Point, had been ejected from the car and had life-threatening injuries, police said. The woman was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem in critical condition.

The 21-year-old man from High Point who was the driver was seriously injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center as well. His injuries weren’t considered to be life-threatening.

A 14 year-old boy who was in the back seat had minor injuries, police said. The teenager was taken to Moses Cone Medical Center in High Point.
