Lighting the way

Seven-year-old Axel Rochin-Barraza, left, and 10-year-old Joshua Middlebrooks with the after-school program at the YWCA High Point, work on their “Be a Light” project for the national “Lights On Afterschool” celebration of after-school programs and their role in the lives of children, families and communities. Community members and families are welcome to attend the YWCA’s “Lights On Afterschool” event Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at 155 W. Westwood Ave. and hear youths tell their stories of the YWCA after-school program.
