• Ricardo Lopez, 27, homeless, High Point, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering into a building, April 3.

• Derek James Laine, 32, Centennial Street, High Point, was charged with one count each of assault on a government official, resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer, larceny, and possession or consumption of fortified wine, malt beverage or liquor on unauthorized premises, April 2.

• Sultan Ali, 41, Bergamot Loop, High Point, was charged with one count each of assault on a female by a male over 18 years of age and communicating threats, April 2.

• Tyzid Williams, 28, Fern Avenue, High Point, was charged with two counts of prohibited weapons possession by a convicted felon and one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and carrying a concealed gun, April 2.

• Raekwon Blocker, 22, Ingleside Drive, High Point, was charged with one count each of assault and battery or simple assault and communicating threats, April 1.

• Zuleyma Aguirre Rodriguez, 26, Flint Avenue, High Point, was charged with general misdemeanor child abuse, April 1.

• Robert Haas III, 44, Woodview Drive, High Point, was charged with a probation violation, April 3.

• Juan Ruiz, 49, New Street, High Point, was charged with violation of a release order, April 3.

• Nikonda Ingram, 27, River Oaks Drive, High Point, was charged with disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace, April 1.

Incidents

• Police went to a residence on Craig Point Road after a report that a family’s dog, a pit bull that they rescued, bit a family member. The owner told officers that the dog was playing with its toy and then out of nowhere bit the family member on his left arm and scratched the lower left side of his stomach. Family members say It was the first time that the dog attacked one of them. The victim of the dog bite declined transport by paramedics, April 3.

• Police investigated the theft of a catalytic converter from a car parked at a business on Fairfield Road, April 3.

• Police investigated vandalism to a Honda Accord that stemmed from a domestic dispute. Someone pulled up to the car on Darden Street, got out with what appeared to be a bat or some type of blunt object and began striking the vehicle in the back windshield area. The person then sliced all four tires and left. Damage was estimated at $1,500, April 3.

• Police are investigating shots fired at unoccupied vehicles along Player Drive. Damage was estimated at $250, April 3.

• Police assisted High Point firefighters at the scene of a residential fire on Ramsay Street, April 3.

• Police investigated $8 worth of over-the-counter medicine stolen from a Ford Econoline van parked along Hamilton Street, April 2.

• Police are searching for whoever broke glass and attempted to enter an occupied apartment on Green Drive, April 2.

• Police are investigating who fired shots at an unoccupied Toyota Camry along Edgeworth Street, shattering a car window and causing $500 in damages, April 2.

• Police assisted paramedics with an overdose at Springfield and Baker roads. The person was given Narcan. Upon waking up the subject refused transport by paramedics, April 1.
