OF UNTREATED SEWAGE

The City of Thomasville had a two discharges of untreated wastewater on November 12, 2020 totaling approximately 100,800 gallons. The first spill came from the Northside Pump Station located on West Cooksey Drive of approximately 22,800 gallons and spilled into Hanks Branch in the Yadkin/Pee Dee river basin. The second discharge of approximately 78,000 gallons came from the East Davidson Pump Station on Old Emanuel Church Road and spilled into South Hamby Creek in the Yadkin/Pee Dee river basin. Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Eta was the cause of these spills and rain water constituted much of the wastewater spilled.
