ARCHDALE — A new brick-and-mortar store is providing a home for shoppers seeking natural supplements.

A staple in High Point for 47 years, The Only Earth Natural Goods is now open in Archdale. Becky Skinner, who has worked at The Only Earth for years, said a renewed focus on wellness has allowed expansion at a time when many businesses are consolidating or even shutting their doors.

Having opened its doors Nov. 2, the store is the newest addition to an area known more for the city’s most popular restaurant. Skinner said hers has been a rare job seemingly immune from the economic travails associated with COVID-19.

“Honestly, as far as the pandemic, I can’t say that it has hurt our stores,” Skinner said of the company’s locations, including the one now situated in the parking lot adjacent to the Pioneer Family Restaurant. “I would say that our industry — because people are so focused on the immune system — has actually done well.”

A greater number of individuals are more focused than ever, Skinner says, on the immune system and are also shifting their focus to long-term health as the pandemic eventually reaches a plateau. In looking ahead, she says the focus on physical wellness should continue over the next several years and help drive business.

The Only Earth Natural Foods has been located on Lexington Avenue in High Point for part of five decades. Now offering products highlighted by vitamins needed to combat a virus that continues to threaten the population, the store also has other products such as elderberry that are packed with antioxidants that can help your immune system ward off illness, particularly respiratory ailments.

The company’s slogan reflects a business model that seems tailored for this era. Its website tauts the mission of “helping people live healthier lifestyles with natural goods.” Whether it be supplements, syrups, body care items or any other product that can be found on the shelves, The Only Earth aims to help customers find the help they need to improve their lives.
