Sue Elberson Arthur
LEXINGTON — Mrs. Sue Elberson Arthur, 71, a resident of Lexington, NC passed away on August 24, 2014 at High Point Regional.
Sue was born September 20, 1942 in Davidson County, NC a daughter of the late Ira Lee Elberson and Mabel Pauline Leonard Elberson. She had made this area her home most of her life. Sue had worked for Council Furniture, but had a love for baby sitting and taking care of children. She was a member of Clarksbury United Methodist Church. Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her children, Chuck Arthur of Thomasville, NC and Laura Arthur Pate of Lexington, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gage Pate, Dylan Pate, Logan Pate; her brothers, Jimmy Lee Elberson (Louise) of Thomasville, NC and Stephen Charles Elberson (Nancy) of Beaufort, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Clarksbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard J. Gould officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.

LEXINGTON — Mr. Alton Cleveland Soles age 77, of Floyd Church Road, Lexington died Friday, August 22, 2014 at WFU Lexington Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m.today (August 27) at Floyd Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Sheffield and Rev. Shane Smith. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Soles was born June 13, 1937 in Columbus County. He was a member of Floyd Baptist Church and worked at Thomasville Furniture Industries before retiring after 35 years of service as a finishing specialist.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Isabelle Soles Capps; stepfather, David V. Capps; son, Alton Soles, Jr., and a brother, Dotha Lee “Junior” Soles.
Surviving are his wife, Estelle Cartrette Soles of the home; daughters, Rita Soles Shipton of Lexington and Deborah Soles Winchester of Lexington; grandchildren, Wendy Shipton Hughes (Mark), Mitzi Shipton Warner (Paul), and Adam David Shipton (Shannon); great-grandchildren, Kalob Keith Shipton, Katelyn Belle Shipton, Jordan Millie Hughes, and Cole, Abby, Emma, and Grace Justice; sisters, Nina Todd of Lumberton, Hilda Blackburn of Thomasville, Pat Arita (Paul) of Leland, and Jimmie Lou Cabe of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Floyd Church Road.

DENTON — Juanita Daniel Weaver, 87,died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at Mountain Vista Health Park.
A funeral service was held 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Summerville Baptist Church. Briggs Funeral Home in Denton assisted the family.
