Freddie Gaither Jr. and Vickie McKiver will be among the honorees at the 12th Annul MLK Awards Dinner and Oratorical Contest, organized by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Social Action Committee. Their stories are included on this website.

The dinner is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville.Recipients of the award are members of the community who exhibit unselfishness and a concern for the plight of others, said the Rev. Dr. George Jackson, founder and chairman of the MLK Social Action Committee.Tickets, $30, are still available for the dinner. Call 476-7218
